Goal & Purpose
The goal of this project was to create and redesign a brand identity with brand guidelines of an existing local company. I decided to redesign the logo for The Learned Owl Book Shop, a book shop located in Hudson, Ohio. This book shop offers books for all age groups and all interests. The mark utilised a serif type treatment with some swirls here and there, however, I found that the logo does not reflect the shop itself in terms of unique visuals or personality. For my redesign, I wanted a mark that appeals to children but is still suitable for all age groups at the same time. It has to look welcoming, cozy, and timeless, a symbol of the shop's history and reflecting its core values.
