Goal & Purpose
The goal of this project was to create any kind of design that utilizes a calendar system based on a high-quality detailing of the twelve months of the year. My system is based on daily self-reflection and journaling through an app called Radience partnered with a 12-set of candles. The purpose of the candles and the app is to relieve stress, encourage people to stay faithful, and to help bring peace of mind. Stress is a widely shared and normal emotional response that every person is capable of having, so people of all ages are encouraged to use the candles and app to help cope with it. Candles are shown to be stress-relievers and they are perfect for prayer and meditation.
Candles
The candles can be purchased for stand-alone use, or they can be used in conjunction with the app. They come in a 12-set, one candle for each month of the year. Each candle is labeled with a month and year and has its own distinct scent.
App Logo
The app logo features a calming blue gradient with the 'Radience' wordmark centered. It has a reflective quality which symbolizes the desire to 'shine' and be the best version of ourselves.
Welcome/Opening
Upon opening the app, the 'Radience' wordmark is displayed, which will then proceed to a loading screen containing a small uplifting quote.
Home/Calendar
On the home screen, the current date and time is displayed, as well as a quote of the day. There are also meditation courses available to watch. Users can scroll through the calendar and see which days they have completed a meditation course and also how their self-reflection inputs progressed throughout the course of the year. Another thing to note is that the app's background color changes in correspondence to the month.
Self-Reflection/Scent Fact
In the 'Self-Reflection' section, the user can answer daily questions and write down things that stress them, things they are grateful for, or anything else they have in mind. It is encouraged to be open and honest. The 'Scent Fact' section contains a fun fact about the current month's candle scent.
Order
If the user completes a meditation course at least once a month from January to November, they are eligible to receive a free Christmas-themed gift box containing a sweatshirt and mug in December. A congratulations message will pop-up containing a code, in which the user can enter on the order screen to have their package delivered.
