Goal & Purpose
For this project, I was tasked to redesign the menu and facade for a local vegan food service. I chose to redesign the menu of a restaurant chain called PLANTA. The goal is to redesign the new menu and facade in a new, fresh way, while aligning with their plant theme. It has to highlight PLANTA's mission, which is to increase the accessibility and acceptability of plant-based dining. It is important to make plant-based cuisine look appetitizing and appealing. The final part of this project to to design a third application in which it has to coexist with the look and feel of the rest of the redesign.
Menu Cover
This menu cover is simplistic and minimalist, featuring the PLANTA logo in front of a beige background. There is a accompanying plant motif that resides in the background of the front cover and continues onto the back cover.
Starters & Signatures
The main or featuring spread for the menu design would be the spread for starters and signature dishes. The name of the service is called 'Power Plant Lunch', where customers choose one starter dish and one signature dish to begin, and the option to purchase dessert or any beverage. The menu's prominent plant motif continues here, as well as a plant pattern seen in the background.
Dessert & Happy Hour
This spread contains the menu for desserts and Happy Hour, an exclusive hour for ordering additional snacks and beverages.
About & Weekly Lineup
This spread contains a page with information about PLANTA's mission and links to their website and Instagram. The page on the right is for Weekly Lineup, which highlights special events that happen on each specific day of the week.
Outdoor Sign
This outdoor sign is created to be displayed on a floor sign as part of PLANTA's redesigned facade. It has an elegant and modern design, utilizing the restaurant's signature plant theme by incorporating the plant pattern in its background.
Hanging Pennant
The hanging pennant designed for the restaurant's facade features the PLANTA wordmark displayed prominently above of the plant motif. A brown geometric abstract pattern occupies the bottom of the pennant, which is meant to resemble soil or dirt that a plant can sprout from.
Napkin
The third application for this project is a napkin design. It utilizes the restaurant's signature plant theme in a grid-like pattern. The plant motif occupies each corner, and in addition, a captivating line pattern lays on top of a leaf pattern underneath.
